The couple met in 2017 when they were paired up together for Season 25 of DWTS. At the time, the Total Divas star was engaged to fellow wrestler John Cena, so their relationship was strictly platonic. They reconnected in 2018 following Garcia’s breakup with Cena and have been together ever since. In July 2020, the pair welcomed their son, Matteo Artemovich. They went on to tie the knot in Paris on Aug. 26, 2022, with Matteo in attendance.
Earlier that year, Garcia told Entertainment Tonight that she had no plans to try for another baby. “You never know what the future can hold, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon,” she said at the time. “God, I hope not. I am so tired.”
Now, almost two years later, the retired WWE star may have changed her tune. During a May 2024 episode of her and twin sister Brie Garcia’s podcast, The Nikki & Brie Show, she and Chigvintsev asked each other questions, including how they felt about expanding their family of three.
“I’m sure people are going to be very excited by his next question,” Chigvintsev teased, before asking his wife about “kid number two.” Garcia responded: “I would love to have baby number two. In a perfect world, I would love that … Is the world so perfect right now? No.” Chigvintsev followed up by asking what would make “the perfect world,” to which she said: “Younger, being younger is probably the main thing.” She noted that she’s not concerned about “female stuff,” but rather a lack of energy. “I’m worried about energy. It’s like, I see how tired I am,” she explained, adding that her and her sister’s wine company, Bonita Bonita, is like “having a baby.” Garcia was 36 years old when she welcomed Matteo and is now 40, whereas Chigvintsev is 42.

Chigvintsev, for his part, seems on board for a second child, and so does the couple’s 3-year-old son, who joined in on the podcast to give his take. “I want a sister!” Matteo said. “Oh … that’s new,” Garcia remarked, adding: “Did daddy tell you to say that?” Chigvintsev claimed that he did not influence Matteo’s answer, but he jokingly offered his son a fist bump.
Garcia concluded that they “will get back to that question.” The podcast later posted the clip on Instagram, writing in the caption: “Matteo’s response ?????? No pressure @nikkigarcia!!!” In the comments section, plenty of fans weighed in and encouraged the couple to go for it. “Great answer Teo!!! Uhmm Nikki you did say you will consider it when Artem’s parents gets here…you can do it, you are a super mom!!!????????,” one fan wrote. Another fan added: “Matteo has spoken! He would be soooo cute as a big brother????.” A third fan noted: “I had my first at 40 and second kid at 42. So anything is possible.”
Shortly after the episode aired, Garcia honored the one-time Mirrorball winner on Father’s Day with a sweet Instagram tribute. “You are the best thing… that’s happened to me ????????,” she wrote alongside a montage of family videos set to Ray LaMontagne’s “You Are The Best Thing.” She continued: “Matteo and I are so lucky to have one of the greatest, coolest, most fun and most loving Daddies in the world! Thank you for being the best Dad ever to our little Tay Tay. Forever grateful for that. Not enough words to describe the love I have for you for being a loving and present father. Love you Daddy! ?????????.”
Fans took the comments section to speculate on baby no. 2 again, with one writing: “I thought it was another pregnancy for a moment. I’d love to see Matteo get a sibling!”
