It was an interesting night in the Dancing with the Stars ballroom when controversial contestant Anna Delvey took the floor to cha cha with her professional partner Ezra Sosa sporting a bejeweled ankle monitor.

Anna was last to dance and after the performance, judge Carrie Ann Inaba pointed out that there was a “shift in the energy” in the room as soon as Delvey hit the dance floor. Before giving her critique, she cautioned the audience to focus on the dancing and “give it a chance.”

“I knew I could do better,” Delvey told Parade on the red carpet after her performance to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso.” “I did better during the rehearsal, but it was not the worst I could have done. It was my first time performing in front of a live audience with all the noises and lights and people.”

Anna and Ezra received a score of 18 and when Julianne Hough asked her what she was feeling, she said, “I feel happy that I don’t have to do this dance again.”

Parade asked her what she meant by that. It seemed an odd comment.

Anna responded, “I thought, ‘I’m glad I have it out of the way. I know what it feels like.’ I was not nervous at first but then I started getting nervous when my time approached because I was the last one and I got to see everyone else and there was so much buildup, so at the moment it was like, ‘What if I fall down and I’m the finale and I’m going to be the worst one.’ Now I know what it feels like and I’m ready for next week.”

Next week is going to be Oscar week with the couples performing to songs from Oscar-nominated films, and two people will be going home since no one was sent home tonight.

So, is Anna nervous about that? We asked who would be voting for her.

“I haven’t had a chance to check the reaction on social media, so we’ll see,” she said.

Dancing with the Stars returns next Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+.
