Dwyane Wade Doesn't Have Time For Trolls Coming For His Son Or Gabrielle Union

Ryan Naumann

NBA star Dwyane Wade is checking internet trolls who tried coming for his family on social media.

Wade’s wife, Gabrielle Union, shared family photos on Thanksgiving. In the photo, Union is seen with Wade, the NBA star’s son Zion and their baby daughter Kaavia.

Union wrote, “Grateful ??? Happy Thanksgiving good people. To all the friends and family that have my back and all the friends and family I've never met who show love and support when everyone is looking and when no one is looking...All praise, gratitude and thankfulness.”

Zion has been living his best life and is quite stylish. He has attended Gay Pride in Miami with Union. Wade has strongly supported his son’s decisions including going to Gay Pride. He has always shut down critics who found something wrong with his love for his son.

Despite constantly letting the trolls know to back off, they still bought the hate in the comments of the Thanksgiving photo. Some spewed hate for Wade letting his son live his life.

Wade took to Twitter to shut it down, “I’ve seen some post-thanksgiving hate on social about my family photo. Stupidity is apart of this world we live in—so i get it. But here’s the thing—I’ve been chosen to lead my family not y’all. So we will continue to be us and support each other with pride, love & a smile! ???"

One fan wrote, “Idk if @DwyaneWade & @itsgabrielleu know how POWERFUL & MOVING it is that they’re embracing their son’s individuality. (Damnit I’m crying) In our community, being given autonomy over your body, beliefs, image, & statements as a child isn’t a thing. That child is free & happy ????”

Wade responded to the tweet, “As a parent my only goal is that my kids feel that i see them , love them and support them.”

He also retweet, “Shout out D. Wade for setting the example of a Black father loving and accepting their children as they are. There’d be a lot less trauma in our community if more Black dads were like this.”

One fan commented, “Thank you for showing us a black family that protects their LGBTQ kids ??”

“To give your kids such a loving and free environment says so much. Some people dont have that so its easier for them to judge because they dont understand it. Keep doing what you doing,” said one follower.

Another supported his decision, “Thank you for leading with love and being proud to show it. Just your example can have ripple effects and benefit more families in our community by helping parents build better, less damaging, and more loving relationships with their children.”

Wade recently came to his wife Gabrielle Union’s defense after she was fired from “America’s Got Talent”, amid reports of a toxic work environment.

He wrote, “Men lie, Women lie, numbers don’t” Over this past year I’ve been approached by many people saying that my wife @itsgabrielleu is the main reason they’ve started watching #AGT or that they love her insight and sincerity on the show.

Wade added, “So when i got the news that my wife was being fired—my first question was obviously why!? Iam still waiting on a good answer to that question. But if anyone knows @itsgabrielleu or have heard of her you know she’s an advocate for our community and culture.”

“As proud as i were of her being selected as a judge on #AGT— Iam even more proud of her standing up for what she stands for and that’s US,” he added.

Union broke her silence on the matter thanking her fans.
