"That wouldn't have stopped me!" joked Kelly Ripa in response

Dylan McDermott went 30 years without eating a croissant, and his first attempt to do so almost resulted in him eating a woman's chin hair.

The FBI: Most Wanted star, 62, chatted with Kelly Ripa, 53, and Mark Consuelos, 52, during Thursday's episode of LIVE with Kelly and Mark, revealing that he had gone three decades without having one of the French pastries. The one time he caved in the past, it ended very badly.

McDermott led off the interaction by explaining that he decided to recently visit Paris with his daughters: Colette Rose, 27, and Charlotte Rose, 18.

"I try to take them somewhere every year that they haven't been, so we decided on Paris," the star said before noting, "but I haven't had a croissant, a chocolate croissant, in 30 years."

The statement prompted Consuelos to exclaim, "What?" Ripa added: "You don't get this body from indulging in chocolate croissants."

The actor then continued, "So we decided to have a chocolate croissant, but this was extra special because it's been 30 years."

Consuelos questioned whether he's been tempted prior. "Because how many croissants have you seen that you've passed up over the years?" he asked.

"There was one, actually," McDermott said before revealing the hairy story.

"I cased a place in Los Angeles and I was like 'Okay, I'm finally going to do it.' So I walk in, and a woman was behind the counter and I noticed that she has just a little bit of a hair growing out of her chin. And as I'm getting the croissant, I see that it dislodges from her chin and I watch it spin onto my croissant, and I immediately walked out."

After a brief pause, Ripa joked, "That wouldn't have stopped me!"

McDermott eventually got his pastry — free of hair — in Paris while in France with his kids. "It was fresh out of the oven, it was melted chocolate, it was flaky. We had coffee on the sidewalk, I was in heaven," he said.
