Dylan Scott set to open for Thomas Rhett at Cheyenne Frontier Days

CHEYENNE — Country artist Dylan Scott has joined the lineup of artists who will perform during this year’s Cheyenne Frontier Days.

CFD officials announced Tuesday that Scott will open for Thomas Rhett on July 27, during the final night show.

Scott is an Academy of Country Music (ACM) nominated, multi-platinum singer who has notched four No. 1 singles on the radio (“My Girl,” “Nobody,” “New Truck” and “Can’t Have Mine”), as well as his top-five hit, “Hooked.”

Following his first career nomination in 2019 for Best New Country Artist at the all-genre iHeartRadio Music Awards, and after earning a coveted spot among Country Radio Seminar’s New Faces of Country Music, his platinum-certified ode to his wife, “Nobody,” earned him a 2021 CMT Music Award for Breakthrough Video of the Year.

Scott also earned a 2023 ACM nomination for New Male Artist of the Year. Alongside Jason Crabb, Scott won his first Good Morning America Dove Award in 2023 for the collaborative song “Good Morning Mercy.

The Louisiana native is currently exceeding 2.5 billion career streams, and has provided tour support for country artists such as Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan and Chris Young, among others, cementing him as an in-demand live act.

CFD Contract Acts Committee chairman Scott Lewis told the Wyoming Tribune Eagle that his committee “had some trouble finding a support band (opener) for Thomas Rhett,” before they stumbled upon Scott.

“I think he’s the perfect fit [for Rhett]. It’s going to be the last show and a great show to put [Frontier Days] to bed,” Lewis continued.

“We try to locate up-and-coming artists, and in a year or two, [hope that] they come back and become headliners,” Lewis said, explaining the committee’s way of finding opening performers.

Dylan Scott is scheduled for a 45-minute time slot ahead of Rhett starting at 8 p.m., meaning Rhett will be on stage roughly around 9 p.m.

“We’ve got a great lineup and rodeo, with lots to do and see in Cheyenne,” Lewis said. “We’re excited for people to come out!”

Tickets for Scott and Rhett’s show on July 27 start at $77, and can be purchased online at tinyurl.com/5rubevzf or by heading to cfdrodeo.com. Doors open at 7 p.m. at the Frontier Park Arena, 1210 W. Eighth Ave.
