Ed Westwick marries ‘Supergirl’ star Amy Jackson with a ‘Gossip Girl’ star in attendance
Ed Westwick and Amy Jackson have tied the knot.
After legally marrying in a small civil ceremony in the U.K. earlier in August, according to People, the “Gossip Girl” alum and “Supergirl” star celebrated their nuptials with friends and family in a three-day-long destination wedding along the Amalfi Coast in southern Italy.
“The journey has just begun,” Westwick, 37, wrote in a recent Instagram post, sharing photos of him and Jackson posing under an archway of white blossoms.
Westwick sported an Armani tuxedo with a white jacket and black pants on their special day, while Jackson, 32, wore a custom gown by Alberta Ferretti with a 15-foot veil, People reported.
Jackson’s 4-year-old son, Andreas, whom she shares with ex-partner George Panayiotou, served as Westwick’s best man, along with one of Westwick’s friends.
“We both wanted (Andreas) to be an integral part of this special moment,” Westwick told People. “He walked down the aisle with me, carried the rings and waited for his mother with me.”
“I think it’s a really beautiful way to honor their bond and make sure he feels part of our celebration,” Jackson added.
Westwick shared several Instagram photos of the lead-up to their romantic weekend, including pics of him, Jackson and Andreas on what appears to be a private plane headed to Italy.
“Let’s go get married baby! ?????????????????? you’re gonna need to change your IG handle ;) @iamamyjackson,” he wrote in the caption. “we did a little chilled Pizza and Pasta night to welcome our family and the wedding party.”
The couple celebrated with 220 guests, according to People, including Westwick’s former “Gossip Girl” co-star Kelly Rutherford.
Rutherford, 55, shared several photos from the wedding in her Instagram story. It looks like she may also have shared some words at the wedding, judging by one photo she shared of herself standing at a wedding table holding a microphone.
The celebrations began Aug. 23 with a sunset cruise that ended in Capri, as People reported.
Jackson shared photos of the glamorous look she sported on the cruise, writing on Instagram that she was “channelling the 1960s Golden Era.”
The next day, the couple held their wedding ceremony at the Castello di Rocca, a picturesque 16th-century castle, according to People, followed by a reception featuring a multicourse Italian meal and a five-tier wedding cake.
The wedding weekend wrapped up with a goodbye brunch at a beach club Aug. 25.
Westwick and Jackson met in 2021 at a racing event in the U.K. Jackson described the day they met in a previous interview with Lifestyle Asia.
“(He) casually asked what I was up to on the weekend and I told him I was house hunting in Hampstead,” she recalled, “to which he told me he knew the area well and he knew a great dog-friendly coffee shop and asked whether Herbert (my poodle) and I would like to go with him and Humphrey (his Frenchie) — he knew how to win me over from the get-go…coffee and dogs."
The couple got engaged in January, and they shared a joint photo on Instagram of the moment Westwick popped the question on a bridge in Gstaad, Switzerland.
“Hell YES,” they wrote in the caption, along with a ring emoji.
