Edited version of 'American Horror Story' still shows violent mass shooting
Following the Las Vegas mass shooting that left 58 people dead and over 500 injured, this week’s episode of American Horror Story: Cult received some major last-minute edits. FX released this statement prior to the episode’s airing:
In light of the recent tragedy in Las Vegas, the producers of American Horror Story: Cult have chosen to edit tonight’s episode for gun-related violence. Viewers who wish to watch the unedited version can find it on FX Video-On-Demand, FXNOW and FX+.
However, the episode still opened with an unseen gunman opening fire on a crowd at a political rally. Some people fled the scene while most took to the ground in cover. Viewers saw a woman being murdered in her home via gunshot to the chest, and the scene later showed the point of view of the gunman (revealed to be Meadow) as she shot, and killed, multiple people. This left many AHS fans on Twitter wondering: So, what was actually edited out?
American Horror Story: Cult airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on FX.
