Editors Chris Beachum, Rob Licuria predict 25 Emmy categories in 25 minutes [WATCH]

“We are back once again for really a very fun tradition that Chris and I have had for many, many years. It’s 25 categories in 25 minutes. We don’t muck around here, we get straight to the point,” declares Gold Derby senior editor Rob Licuria, who is joined by managing editor Chris Beachum to debate their final predictions for all 25 Primetime Emmy categories. “I’m thrilled; we’re not in in a a random month like January, we’re back in September, where we belong,” Chris adds about their long-standing annual tradition of dedicating a minute to each category announced on Emmy night, and doing so in September. The ABC ceremony will be hosted by Emmy winning father and son duo Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, with festivities commencing at 5 p.m. PT on Sunday, September 15.

“We have plenty of categories to talk about,” Rob says, noting that “a lot of them are seem to be quite locked up, so we might talk about who could be the the spoiler in certain categories,” he adds, referring to likely sweeps on Emmy night from “The Bear” in the comedy categories, “Shogun” in the drama categories and “Baby Reindeer” in the limited/TV movie categories.

With bragging rights on the line, the guys point to a handful of categories that will determine who triumphs as the best predictor on TV’s night of nights, like Best Movie/Limited Actress, where it’s anyone’s guess between Jodie Foster (“True Detective: Night Country”), Brie Larson (“Lessons in Chemistry”), Juno Temple (“Fargo”), Sofia Vergara (“Griselda”) and Naomi Watts (“Feud: Capote vs. The Swans”). Rob is convinced that “whoever whoever gets that one right is probably going to win” the predictions contest.” Among a few other key categories, there’s also a real toss-up in Best Movie/Limited Supporting Actor, with Chris predicting that Tom Goodman-Hill will add to the “Baby Reindeer” trophy haul, while Rob thinking that breakout star Jonathan Bailey will triumph for “Fellow Travelers.”
