Eight unique cocktails in New Bedford that are a must-try. Here's all the details.

NEW BEDFORD -- A cocktail is a combination of ingredients that not only gives you a unique taste but can become the kick-off for the night's conversation.

From local favorites like Black Whale's twist on "The Missionary's Downfall" to inventive creations like a Cultaroni, there are a variety of drinks that you have to try while visiting The Whaling City.

Whether you're out for a night on the town or just looking for something special to sip, these unique cocktails will ensure you have a memorable experience.

The Missionary's Downfall (The Black Whale)

The Black Whale's version of the classic. features Plantation 3 Star rum, pineapple juice, peach liqueur, honey, lime and fresh mint. It's a very refreshing, tiki-esque drink with great flavors and one of my favorite summer cocktails, according to Alex Howell, beverage director.

The fruity cocktail has White Plantation rum with house made mango purée, lime juice, muddled mint leaves and tonic water.

Made with Captain Morgan, Malibu, Blue Cura?ao, pineapple juice, and fresh lime juice. Available only for a limited time.

Rocket Pop & Blue Dream (Pour Farm Tavern)

Rocket Pop is vodka, lemon, elderflower and tastes like the refreshing popsicle you remember while the Blue Dream is rum, coconut cream and pineapple.

Cultaroni (Cultivator Shoals)

Its pineapple infused Fords Gin and pineapple infused Campari with Carpano Antica sweet vermouth. They’re all stirred together in equal parts. The pineapple used to infuse the Campari becomes an almost pink color.

"I use a pastry circle to make those chunks a perfect circle then dehydrate them and use as a garnish. It’s a play on a Negroni with the infusions to make it go from a very spirit forward cocktail to slightly softer and a bit of a sweeter feel," said Michael Gadbois, manager.

Although not a cocktail, the mushroom mocha is an iced latte (can also be made hot) with our house made Mocha syrup and Functional Mushroom Powder by Four Sigmatic!

"I put it on the menu a couple of years ago and wasn’t sure how it would go but it’s one of our most popular drinks," so co-owner Jillian Cotter.
