Eiza González teams up with Dwayne Johnson, joins 'Fast & Furious' family

Eiza González has made a few headlines for her high-profile romances — cue Josh Duhamel, Liam Hemsworth, Cristiano Ronaldo and Calvin Harris — but don’t let the gossip surrounding her love life fool you. This Mexican-born actress is focused on one thing: her booming career.

Yes, there was that five-month whirlwind romance with Duhamel (Fergie’s ex-husband), but that’s all in the past. González, who started her career in telenovelas and released her first Spanish-language album when she was 18, has eight movies in the works — talk about Hollywood domination. She’s teaming up with Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson for the highly anticipated Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, out his summer. The 29-year-old actress is also in Paradise Hills, Godzilla vs. Kong and Robert Rodriguez’s Alita: Battle Angel.

It was Rodriguez who gave González her big break with an English-speaking role in 2013’s From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series. My mentor is Robert Rodriguez. He brought me into this industry and has taken care of me,” González said. Doors quickly opened (and continue to open) for this rising star.

In 2015, she became Neutrogena’s brand ambassador for skin care, shooting commercials in both English and Spanish. Two years later, she played sexy Darling opposite Jon Hamm in Baby Driver, a role that made Hollywood take notice. “All I care about is representing Latina women in a way that they feel proud.”

With more than 4 million Instagram followers, the Latinx community is here for González. She keeps fans motivated by sharing fun fitness routines and plenty of bikini photos that would give anyone vacation FOMO.

And then there are messages of positivity: “This Year, I’m starting from scratch. I’m stronger than ever. And so are you. Nothing is stronger than a broken person who rebuilds themselves.”
