Elena Rose Reimagines Her Song ‘Me Lo Merezco,’ But in the Clouds
Elena Rose isn’t afraid to manifest greatness. On Thursday night, the Venezuelan American pop star and songwriter shared the video for an acoustic, gospel reimagining of her song “Me Lo Merezco,” premiering the new version exclusively with Rolling Stone.
“I love how my fans have received this song, and how much it’s brought us together,” Rose says. “I know this is the start of a new journey that I’m so happy to go on together.”

The Bernardo Garcia-Salgado-directed video sees the pop star in a cream-colored dress approaching a choir and an electric guitar player as she sing the track’s sweet lyrics. On the track, Rose expresses gratitude for life’s greatness, and repeating affirmations of what she knows she deserves: a cool life, a sweet partner, and real love.
“You deserve everything you dream of. You deserve to be happy,” she says. “You deserve to live life without fear and have someone to hug you along the way. You’ll have me — forever.”
Rose released the original song back in March, receiving more than 12 million streams on Spotify since then. This year, she’s dropped solo singles “Trago Al Pecho” and “Orion” with Boza, which has become her biggest release to date.
Rolling Stone en Espa?ol named Rose — who’s also the songwriter behind hits by Karol G, Becky G, and Emilia — as one of the artists set to be the Future of Music. In a recent conversation with Myke Towers, Rose explained her outlook and her creative process. “We are artists living in a world that has forgotten what real art is. [What] I try to exercise to myself is ‘how can I remember?’ Remember what already lives in me. I can try to make you see how special you are and what you have.”
