Chris Wilding, son of the legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor, made a bold comparison between his mother and superstar Taylor Swift.

In a new interview with The Guardian's Simon Hattenstone, Wilding reflected on the massive legacy his mother left behind, with Hattenstone comparing it to the "era of Taylor Swift and Beyoncé."

"...it’s hard to imagine just how huge [Elizabeth] Taylor was," the author pondered, as Wilding recounted the paparazzi would wait outside their house at all hours of the day. Not to mention, the often uncomfortable headlines the media plastered across photos of his mother and stepfather, Richard Burton.

"There were crowds wherever she went; always a gaggle of photographers following, people gawping,” he continued, describing the frenzy as "horrible."

It's certainly reminiscent of the masses that follow the "...Ready For It?" songstress wherever she goes. Fans slammed crowds outside a hotel Swift was believed to be staying in during the Eras Tour. People also swarmed outside Jack Antonoff's 2023 wedding because she was there.

However, it wasn't their respective star power that Wilding compared. When asked if any of today's top celebrities reminded him of his late mom, who died in 2011 at 79, he called on Swift's "spirit."

"I can’t tell you how much I admire Taylor Swift," he said, dubbing himself an official Swiftie. He specifically pointed at her endorsement of Kamala Harris following the presidential debate between her and Donald Trump, calling her message "f--king great" and sending "huge props to her."

"That reminds me a little bit of the same spirit my mom had,” he concluded.
