Elle Fanning Goes ‘Retro’60s in Slingbacks, Flats and Boots on Set of Bob Dylan Biopic, ‘A Complete Unknown’

Elle Fanning was spotted stepping into character for her role in the upcoming Bob Dylan biopic, “A Complete Unknown,” on Tuesday. The actress plays Sylvie Russo, an artist and university student with whom Dylan (played by Timothée Chalamet) was romantically involved in the early ’60s before rising to fame.
Fanning was captured filming scenes in several different looks throughout the day. One outfit saw her in a simple black sleeveless top, dark denim jeans and black flats. She wore a casual loafer style with an apron toe and subtle detailing across the vamp.
In another shot, Fanning donned what appeared to be the same jeans paired with another black top and a brown embroidered jacket featuring a furry trim. On foot, she sported black leather boots that hit just below the knee and featured a slouchy silhouette.
The retro-inspired boots were complete with a slight block heel, a rounded square toe, and instep zippers for easy on-and-off access.
The “Somewhere” star then slipped into a black pencil skirt, a striped button-up shirt with a printed cardigan on top, and black leather slingback pumps. The shoes featured a round pointed toe with a tiny bow detail on the vamp and delicate straps that fastened via a small buckle at the heel. A low, block heel with a subtle curve finished off the look.
Since entering the spotlight in her teenage years, Fanning has become known for her chic style, whether she’s hitting the street or the red carpet. For instance, she showcased see-through lucite sandals after the 2024 Met Gala last month. Furthermore, the prolific actress has been a brand ambassador for Paco Rabanne’s Fame fragrance since 2022 and Cartier since 2023. She has also starred in campaigns for Alexander McQueen, Miu Miu and Marc by Marc Jacobs.
