Listing agent Robert Riskin of Riskin Partners Estate Group previously told PEOPLE that DeGeneres spent time restoring the compound before listing it for sale.

"What makes Ellen so unique is that she focuses on restoring historic and special properties rather than just tearing down and building new,” Riskin said. “She has an eye for one-of-a-kind properties and this is no exception!”

DeGeneres is no stranger to Montecito real estate.

In November 2022, she put her 1,945-square-foot cottage up for grabs for $5.85 million. The charming property was built four years before her massive Mediterranean-style villa in 1915. It featured three bedrooms, three full bathrooms, one-half bath and a guest cottage, as well as several outside living areas.
