“I’m in love,” the actress, 28, told E!.

Making their first public appearance together at the premiere of Freeheld – based on the true story of a lesbian couple fighting for domestic partner benefits – seemed like the perfect fit to flaunt their blossoming relationship.

“Walking down the red carpet holding my girlfriend’s hand is pretty special,” she said. “It’s pretty awesome.”

The two looked like the perfect pair as they held hands and posed for pictures together. Both women looked stunning as their wore tuxedo ensembles. Page kept it simple with a black jacket and matching skinny tie, while Thomas opted for a vest and ruffled shirt.

During the event, Page’s close friend Ruby Rose snapped a picture with the couple, joking about their matching outfits.

“When you’re not sure if you’re a YSL Campaign or really stylish waiters,” the Orange is the New Black star joked on Instagram.

She couldn’t help but continue to gush about her friend, posting another picture with the sweet caption: “When your best friend is the most talented, funny, beautiful, generous, humble human being it’s hard to not smile until it hurts,” she wrote. “Ellen, I am so proud of you and will always be grateful for everything you are and will always be to me.”

While this might have been the couple’s first red carpet event, the duo certainly haven’t been trying to hide their love for one another. Page has posted numerous pictures of the two together on Instagram over the past few weeks.

“Surf’s up,” she captioned an Instagram photo her artist and surfer girlfriend holding a wetsuit under the bright sun rays.

Page came out as gay in 2014, after filming Freeheld inspired her to be open about her own sexuality.

“I remember thinking, ‘Ellen, how in God’s name could you make this film and not be out?’ ” she told Out magazine in its October cover story. “What’s interesting to me is how long it took to make the movie – for it to finally come together – and how my internal progression toward coming out was naturally in line with it.”
