Elton John Makes Surprise Appearance at Dua Lipa’s London Show to Duet ‘Cold Heart’
Elton John made a surprise appearance at Dua Lipa’s intimate Royal Albert Hall show on Thursday night to duet their hit “Cold Heart.”
Toward the end of Lipa’s set — which included a full orchestra and several costume changes — John emerged from behind a group of back-up singers in a burgundy suit to belt out his verse. As John was seated for most of the song, a feather-adorned Lipa came over and held his hand while the two sang the catchy chorus together. When the tune came to an end, John stood up to dance and shimmy with Lipa, and “Cold Heart” ended with an embrace.

It marked only the second time the pair have performed the chart-topper together, with the first being at John’s final U.S. concert at Los Angeles’ Dodgers Stadium in November 2022. The 77-year-old pop icon staged the last show of his farewell tour in Stockholm in July of last year, and gave his first public performance since earlier this month when he sang “Tiny Dancer” at the New York Film Festival premiere of his new documentary “Elton John: Never Too Late.”
Lipa’s Royal Albert Hall show previewed her upcoming “Radical Optimism” tour, named after her recently released third album. During the concert, which was being filmed, Lipa also performed her “Barbie” soundtrack cut “Dance the Night” for the first time with a group of dancers replicating the film’s choreography, according to the BBC.
Lipa officially kicks off the “Radical Optimism” tour on Nov. 5 in Singapore before trekking across Asia through the end of the year and picking back up in Australia, Europe and the U.S. next year.
