Elton John Reportedly Wears Eerie Accessory Made From Part of His Own Skeleton on the Red Carpet
Elton John is putting the phrase "reduce, reuse, recycle" to the test with his latest red carpet accessory, which is said to have been created with a part of his own skeleton.
The legendary musician, 77, attended the Headline Gala for his new documentary, Elton John: Never Too Late, at the 68th BFI London Film Festival on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024. There, he paired a necklace—with what appeared to be a sliver of a white geode on a gold chain—which laid flat on his pastel-striped button-up underneath his dark tan suit jacket.

The pendant was framed in gold with sparkling silver gemstones while the chain links holding it around his neck resembled femurs, making the piece even more iconic. Because, according to the Daily Mail, the polished stone was made from the "Crocodile Rock" singer's own patella.
At a previous screening of the film at the New York Film Festival earlier this month, John joked that "there's not much of [him] left" as he detailed all of the surgeries he's undergone in his life, including having both knees replaced.
"To be honest with you, there's not much of me left," John told the audience at that screening. "I don't have tonsils, adenoids or an appendix. I don't have a prostate."
He continued, "I don't have a right hip or a left knee or a right knee. In fact, the only thing left to me is my left hip. But I’m still here."
