‘Emily In Paris’ Cast Wants Kim Cattrall Cameo, ‘Sex And The City’ Crossover: “It’s Obvious”
After Kim Cattrall graced Sex and the City fans with a brief visit from Samantha Jones, another show hopes to bring the character out of retirement once again.
The cast of Emily in Paris recently campaigned for Cattrall to reprise her beloved character for a crossover of their fellow Darren Star brainchild, following her cameo on Season 2 of And Just Like That… last year.

Lily Collins, who stars as Emily in the Netflix series, told IMDb her choice for a crossover, “I would say the obvious but also genuine answer is gonna be Sex and the City just because naturally I feel like there’s a lot of crossover there.”
“We’ve been talking about – earlier – about having Kim Cattrall, manifesting her presence on Emily in Paris,” added Lucas Bravo. “But it would imply that there’s a substantial role for her to take on, and also [for] her to say yes to that idea. But I’ve been floating all day and dreaming about that opportunity and I hope it happens.”
Ashley Park, Lucien Laviscount, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu and Samuel Arnold all also agreed SATC would be an “obvious” crossover choice. “It’s obvious, yeah,” added Bruno Gouery.
It’s not a ridiculous idea that public relations maven Samantha and marketing executive Emily would cross paths, especially as the SATC character currently lives in London, which is a short trip to Paris.
After her brief cameo on the Season 2 finale of AJLT, Cattrall shut down reports that she would be returning for a third season. “Aw that’s so kind but I’m not,” she wrote on X.
Cattrall played the sexually empowered publicist Samantha Jones for the original HBO show’s six-season run from 1998 to 2004, as well as the feature adaptations that hit theaters in 2008 and 2010.
After opening up about her behind-the-scenes differences with co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, Cattrall opted not to reunite with Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis in AJLT, which premiered in 2021.
