‘Emily in Paris’ Season 4: Everything We Know So Far

One Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) returned to the small screen August 15 in Part 1 of Emily in Paris Season 4. The latest installment of the soapy Netflix series has been split into two parts like other tentpole shows for the streamer such as Bridgerton Season 3, Stranger Things Season 4 and more.

Ten days after the premier of Part 1, Collins posted some first look photos for Part 2, in which viewers will see Emily go on her Roman holiday.

New characters will also appear in season 4 part 2 of Emily in Paris.

At the blush pink premiere carpet for part 1 of season 4, writers and executive producers Joe Murphy, Grant Sloss and Alison Brown spoke about one new character viewers can expect in part 2.

“We actually introduce a new character in the second half of the season, it’s nice to see Emily act as a Paris mentor,” Murphy told Deadline. “Like Mindy took [Emily] under her wing, so if she could do the same thing for someone else, we do get to explore that a little bit in the second half and it doesn’t go as well as Emily’d hoped, but that’s the show.”

Writer and EP Alison Brown teased a connection with this new character.

“The character that we meet in the second half of the season is related to someone, so we get to learn more about these other characters, which is nice,” she said.

E News! had more detailed descriptions of the two photos below, who we haven’t yet met by the end of part 2.

What can viewers expect from part 2 of season 4 of Emily in Paris?

Netflix revealed that parts of Season 4 were shot in Rome, which was not a location featured in part 1. Specific Roman sites included in Collins’ first batch of Season 2 photos include the Trevi fountain, and of course, Emily looks to be sipping on an aperol spritz in another photo.

In an interview with Deadline, star and Executive Producer Lily Collins also teased some snow that will be featured later in season 4.

“We filmed a couple of episodes out of order because we filmed this year in a fall, winter season. So we got to go to the mountains and have snow, and we needed to make sure that we had the best snowfall,” she said. “So certain episodes that are in the second drop, we ended up filming before the end of the first drop.”

Collins also acknowledged a potential new love interest for Emily, who was photographed by paparazzi while the show was in production.

“I can just say that there were paparazzi pictures that came out where you see that there is a new person that she’s in Rome spending time with, but I will say that Emily gets to go on a very fun Roman Holiday, and Emily wouldn’t be Emily without a little geometry lesson,” Collins said.

What happened in Emily in Paris season 4 part 1?

In part 1 of the soapy Netflix series, Emily finds herself more rooted in Paris and her relationships — not the romantic ones. She faces a choice between Alfie and Gabriel after she goes out of her way to find Camille, who disappeared after her big reveals last season. Making her choice at a masquerade ball in episode 3, Emily works on that relationship, but some drastic shifts by the end of part 1 throw the whole ensembles’ lives into question.

Sylvie speaks her truth about working for JVMA owner Louis de Léon (Pierre Deny) as Julian jumps ship to work for the company, where Mindy’s boyfriend Nicolas de Léon (Paul Forman) also works. Meanwhile, Mindy Mindy and the band are preparing for Eurovision, but the budget will be tough to stretch.

What happened in Season 3 of Emily in Paris?

Last season, Camille ended her would-have-been wedding to Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) because she knows that he and Emily have feelings for each other, but it turns out she’s pregnant. Ashley Park’s Mindy was on the outs with bandmates Beno?t (Kevin Dias) and étienne (Ji Xuan Mao) in favor of her childhood friend and boarding school classmate Nicolas de Léon (Paul Forman), but they have reunited to compete at a major singing competition in Europe.

Sylvie also rekindled her romance with her husband Laurent G (Arnaud Binard).

Will there be more seasons of Emily in Paris?

Creator Darren Star left this question open when asked if Season 4 was conceived as a final chapter after the double renewal.

“I definitely think the show has a life beyond next season. It’s not necessarily conceived as a final chapter. I think like every other show, it’s a rich ensemble. There’s no end in sight until everybody feels like it’s time to end,” he told Deadline. “And I don’t think this show is limited by a number of seasons, I think it’s limited by everybody’s enthusiasm and excitement about doing it and telling stories about these characters.”
