Emily Ratajkowski's embarrassing moment with Beyoncé at the Met Gala: 'I've never recovered'
Emily Ratajkowski stopped by Watch What Happens Live Thursday and discussed how her entire approach to attending the famous Met Gala has changed after a chance encounter she had at the event a couple years with royalty, aka, Beyoncé Knowles.
Host Andy Cohen read a viewer-submitted question asking whom Ratajkowski was most excited to meet at this year’s Met Gala event, held back in September. But instead the question prompted the model and actress to look back even further, to a meeting she had with Beyoncé a couple years ago from which Ratajkowski has "never recovered."
While chatting with Solange Knowles, Beyoncé’s sister asked if Ratajkowski would like to meet the superstar.
“I totally embarrassed myself,” Ratajkowski said of the encounter. “I was like, ‘No man has done what you have done with Lemonade.’ I had had like a little bit of champagne and I just decided to go for it, and it was wrong."
It sounds like Ratajkowski, who has been receiving high praise for her new essay collection, My Body, would give the “really embarrassing” words she shared with Beyoncé a negative review. In fact, it has changed the way she attends the event.
“She was so nice of course because she's used to people losing their minds, but I've never lived it down, or recovered,” Ratajkowski said. “I just keep it together now at the Met. I'm like, ‘it's all right, we don't have to say hi to that person. We'll be fine.’”
Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursday evenings on Bravo.
