The Michigan State alum, 27 — who has been in a relationship with McClintock since meeting in college — shared the happy news via Instagram on Monday, February 6, alongside a carousel of photos from the proposal. “Casual weekend recap… ???? 2.4.23 ?? i love you @evanmcclintock11,” Mathers captioned the sweet slideshow, which featured an image of McClintock on bended knee asking his girlfriend, clad in a leather jacket and an all-black ensemble, to marry him. Another snap depicted the happy couple grinning as they popped champagne, while the final photo showed a close-up of Hailie’s diamond ring. In March 2020, the “Real Slim Shady” artist, 50 — real name Marshall Mathers — gushed about his daughter, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Mathers, and her relationship with McClintock. “No babies, she has a boyfriend, but she’s doing good,” Eminem told Mike Tyson on his “Hotboxin’” podcast at the time. “She’s made me proud for sure. She’s graduated from college.” Hailie, for her part, has shared several heartfelt photos with her beau via Instagram over the years. “I rarely share my feed, but when i do i’m happy it’s with you ?????,” she captioned a 2021 photo of her and McClintock smiling for the camera. In February 2022, she uploaded a shot of them kissing with a colorful sunset as the backdrop. “yesterday & everyday ??,” she wrote alongside the pic. Eminem has long rapped about his daughter throughout his decades-long career, most notably writing “Hailie’s Song” and “Mockingbird” for her, fan-favorite tracks off his 2002 album The Eminem Show and 2004’s Encore, respectively. “My baby girl keeps gettin' older / I watch her grow up with pride,” the “Stan” songwriter sings on “Hailie’s Song.” On the outro of the fan-favorite tune, he adds, “Hailie, 'member when I said / ‘If you ever need anything, Daddy would be right there?’ / Guess what? Daddy's here / And I ain't going nowhere, baby / I love you.” Eminem Matt Baron/Shutterstock In December 2022, Hailie paid tribute to her dad, revealing she listens to his catalogue so often that he’s been her No. 1 artist on her Spotify Wrapped for the past two years. “I feel like I always get the question do I listen to my dad’s music? If you follow me on TikTok, I posted my Spotify Wrapped from last year because he was the No. 1 artist on my thing. And of course, this year — the same thing,” the Michigan native revealed on the “Just a Little Shady” podcast at the time. Eight years earlier, upon graduating from high school in 2014, Hailie — who graduated Summa Cum Laude — paid tribute to her parents in her school’s newsletter under the headline "Most Influential During My Lifetime." ”My mother and father are because they have pushed me to be the person I am and have given me all the support to achieve what I have," she wrote in the publication.
