Eminem Sends a Pointed Message About Taylor Swift While Promoting His New Album
The old Slim Shady can't come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, because he's too busy praising Taylor Swift.
Eminem just recently released his brand new album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace), and in one of his latest promo videos, he mentions the "Cruel Summer" songstress by name.
The rapper, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, went head-to-head with his own former persona, Slim Shady, in a new YouTube video for Complex, and to some fans' surprise, Swift, 34, got brought up in the heated conversation.
Among the countless digs Slim Shady threw out to his less problematic alter-ego in the clip, he told Mathers, "You're not f---ing Taylor Swift. You had one era that mattered...mine."

"Another goat recognizing his peers," one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter) after seeing the clip.
"He spilled," someone else declared, while another person insisted, "I just know Taylor loves this."
The mention of Swift is only one of several topics touched upon by Eminem's two personas in the face-off, which dropped on Tuesday, July 30 to supplement his brand new album, which deals with the "death" of the old, often controversial version of himself.
The theme of The Death of Slim Shady is not unlike the concept from Swift's own reputation era, where she famously claimed in the lead single "Look What You Made Me Do" that the "old Taylor" is dead.
While Slim Shady might still be in his "Anti-Hero" era, Mathers is definitely channeling major reputation vibes.
"we need slim shady on rep TV vault track," another user on X suggested.
