Emira D’Spain, Victoria’s Secret’s First Black Transgender Model, Honors Brand’s Iconic Allure in Pink Runway Robes

Alongside familiar names like Paloma Elsesser and the highly anticipated return of Tyra Banks, the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show not only marked the brand’s comeback on Tuesday in New York, but also introduced a fresh wave of new faces. Model, tastemaker, and former beauty director Emira D’Spain arrived at this year show in an all-black lingerie ensemble from the brand, highlighting her ongoing collaboration with the lingerie giant.

D’Spain, the first Black transgender model to work with Victoria’s Secret, has continued to break boundaries since making her debut with the brand in 2022, following in the footsteps of Valentina Sampaio, the first transgender model to represent Victoria’s Secret in 2019.
D’Spain’s look was composed of a fitted black satin mini dress with delicate lace detailing at the bust and hemline, evoking classic Victoria’s Secret allure. She paired the dress with black thigh-high stockings embroidered with the brand’s signature logo, adding an extra element to the ensemble. Draped over her shoulders was a soft pink satin robe, a nod to the brand’s iconic runway aesthetic. For accessories, she wore black velvet gloves adorned with crystal embellishments and a delicate Maison Spoiled diamond choker necklace.
Her makeup complemented the ensemble with a soft yet sultry vibe, featuring neutral tones and a bold pink blush that framed her cheekbones.
The Emirati-born American model has had a prolific career in the fashion and beauty industries. Aside from her groundbreaking role with Victoria’s Secret, she has modeled for notable campaigns with brands like Fenty Beauty, Ugg, Anastasia Beverly Hills and NARS Cosmetics. Her arrival at the event continues to celebrate the brand’s efforts to expand its inclusivity.
As Victoria’s Secret evolves its approach to representation, D’Spain’s continued presence highlights her role in the brand’s new direction, as she embraces her platform to advocate for greater diversity and inclusion within the fashion world.
After a six-year hiatus, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is back. The 2024 spectacle airs live on Prime Video and across the brand’s YouTube, Instagram and TikTok channels. Former Angels such as Tyra Banks, Alessandra Ambrosio and Taylor Hill will walk the runway alongside new faces like Paloma Elsesser and Devyn Garcia. Cher, Tyla and Lisa of Blackpink are the evening’s musical guests.
