Emmy Rossum Goes Sophisticated Glam in Strappy Sandals for ‘Walden’ New York City Celebration
More from Footwear News
Emmy Rossum chose a sophisticated pair of strappy sandals while attending the “Walden” Off-Broadway Opening Night Celebration at Fushimi in New York City on Thursday night.
The sandals, which were constructed with patent leather material, were emphasized by a singular, thick glittery strap in the toe box region, which itself was crafted with a rounded design. While the shoes couldn’t be seen in its entirety due to the extended length of her dress, it’s likely that a buckled ankle strap of the same color locked her foot in place. The silhouette was also likely finished with a razor sharp stiletto heel ranging between 3-to-4 inches in height.
Serving as a compliment to her stilettos was a beige shoulderless a-line dress that flared slightly at the end. Also showcasing slight pleats on the front, the look was reminiscent of the classic vintage style worn by actresses during the 1940s and 50s. As for her accessories, Rossum donned a silver ring on one of her fingers, and a gold bracelet on the opposite wrist.
Strappy sandals are a footwear style that has been around for decades, dating back to the early 1900s and going through many variations over the years. They can come in many different forms, including peep-toe designs, and have been praised for their versatility and ability to work well with a number of outfits. Many brands such as Gucci, Stuart Weitzman and Chanel carry strappy sandals as a part of their footwear lineup, offering the style in many different iterations.
Many celebrities have also chosen the footwear style to wear to their upscale events and appearances. Last week, Emily Ratajkowski attended the WSJ. Magazine 2024 Innovator Awards, where she was spotted in a pair of Jimmy Choo sandals. Highlighted by a black design, the shoes featured a thin strap across the upper portion, and were constructed with fine patent leather material. The dramatized square toe was another standout of the shoes, which were finished with a black ankle strap that secured her feet, and a tall stiletto heel ranging between 3-to-4 inches in height.
While many celebs will be switching over to boots and closed-toe designs for the winter season ahead, you can still expect to see many strappy sandals in warmer weather areas.
