Emmys 2024 Poll: What Should Win for Outstanding Comedy Series?

The Bear is trying to cook up a second straight win for Outstanding Comedy Series at this year’s Emmys — but a mix of veteran shows and first-time nominees are making sure the competition stays hot.

Hulu’s acclaimed culinary dramedy leads this year’s pack of eight nominees, with Season 2 earning a record 23 nominations overall, topping 30 Rock in 2009 for the most nominations ever for a comedy in a single year. (Keep in mind: It’s Season 2 of The Bear that is eligible for this year’s Emmys, not the recently released Season 3.) It’ll face stiff competition, though, from a trio of comedies earning their third nods for best comedy: ABC’s Abbott Elementary, Max’s Hacks and Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building. None of those three shows have taken home the big prize yet, though.

Also back for another crack at Emmy gold: Larry David’s HBO cringe comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm, nabbing its 11th nomination in this category for its 12th and (supposedly) final season; and FX’s vampire chronicle What We Do in the Shadows, nominated for the third time here. Plus, a pair of Emmy newcomers are in the mix: Hulu’s Reservation Dogs, finally breaking through with its third and final season; and the freshman season of Apple TV+’s Palm Royale.

So does The Bear deserve to taste sweet victory once again? Or would you rather see one of the other contenders claim the Emmy this time around? Vote for your favorite in the poll below, and then hit the comments to defend your pick.
