Emmys tribute to TV moms brings out Meredith Baxter, Connie Britton, and Susan Kelechi Watson
Three TV dads got their own moment earlier in the evening.
After the TV dads got their due at the Emmys on Sunday night, the TV moms rolled out on stage.
Three such ladies — actors Meredith Baxter, Connie Britton, and Susan Kelechi Watson — united during the big awards ceremony to announce the winner of Best Writing in a Comedy Series. Notably, Baxter played Elyse Keaton on Family Ties, Britton played Tammi Taylor on Friday Night Lights, and Watson played Beth Pearson on This Is Us.
The Emmys ceremony seemed to foreshadow their arrival when Reba vets Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman arrived on stage earlier in the show to McEntire's song "I'm a Survivor," with its lyrics "a single mom who works two jobs."

Watson acknowledged that TV moms are "no longer one-dimensional," and that it's okay for them to "ask for as much money as a TV dad."
