‘It Ends With Us’ author visits East Texas theater
SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas (KETK) – “It Ends With Us” premiered in theaters across the nation on Friday and its East Texas author made a cameo.

East Texas native, Colleen Hoover, released the bestselling novel “It Ends With Us” in 2016 and since then it has sold thousands of copies and incited conversations.
Hoover, who was reportedly born in Sulphur Springs and graduated from Saltillo High School, said the novel was one of the hardest books she ever had to write.
Justin Baldoni the director and one of the lead actors of the film told Hoover that she did a “beautiful job of covering incredibly difficult subject matter and playing it out in a realistic and unforgettable way.”
The film adaptation follows Lily, played by Blake Lively, as she navigates themes of domestic abuse, complexity of love and cycles of violence.
Not only did Hoover make a cameo in the movie but she stopped by a Sunday screening at Studio Movie Grill in Tyler.

SMG unit manager Carnice Copper said she heard Hoover enjoyed herself and some viewers got a chance to take pictures with the author after the screening.

Cooper said since its release, the Tyler theater has been busy nonstop and several screenings have been sold out.
According to the domestic box office, the movie grossed over $50 million opening weekend and over $30 million internationally.
Hoover has published over 26 books and according to her website a majority of them are intended for mature audiences.
In 2023, Hoover was named in Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People under the artist category.
