"It Ends With Us" was almost guaranteed to be a big hit at the box office. That's because it's based on the bestselling 2016 Colleen Hoover novel of the same name which was already hugely popular with readers; securing the movie rights was almost like bagging a license to print money.
Despite splitting critics— as of our latest update, "It Ends With Us" has a 57% critics' rating on Rotten Tomatoes — the movie has become a big hit with moviegoers, having raked in over $300 million worldwide since its release in early August.
Being that popular, it stands to reason that some would-be viewers are probably wondering what the "It Ends With Us" streaming date is, and which of the (many) streaming services you'll need to have access to when it lands. Here's everything we know so far about when "It Ends With Us" will be available to stream.
When will 'It Ends With Us' be available to stream?
Justin Baldoni's Colleen Hoover adaptation hit theaters on August 9, 2024, and while it is still in some theaters, you can finally watch it at home via Premium Video-on-Demand (PVOD) services.
Just a few days ago, we updated this article with news that "It Ends With Us" was available for pre-order on PVOD services like Prime Video, though we didn't know when it would launch. Turns out, we didn't have to wait long: "It Ends With Us" is now available for rent or purchase, meaning you can finally watch it via PVOD at home.
But what about the "It Ends With Us" streaming date? Well, while we still don't have a confirmed date on that front, we do know that the movie will first be available to stream on Netflix in the U.S.
That's in accordance with a first-window streaming deal Netflix inked with Sony Pictures back in 2021. Typically, the wait time for Sony's big-screen releases lasts 122 days. "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" hit theaters on March 22, and it landed on Netflix on July 22, and the wait for previous Sony efforts like "The Equalizer 3" and "Gran Turismo" was the same.
If "It Ends With Us" follows the same release strategy, it could come to Netflix on or around December 9, 2024. Now, we can't be certain that's the exact date, as some other recent Sony releases ("Tarot" and "Madame Web") arrived on the platform after just 90 and 89 days, respectively... though neither of them were received very well at all, which probably explains the shorter wait.
After streaming on Netflix, Sony's movies head over to the House of Mouse's streaming services, on either Disney Plus or Hulu, though given that 122-day wait period, that means this won't happen until well into 2025. Hopefully, we'll get a proper "It Ends With Us" streaming date soon; we'll be sure to share it here when one arrives.
