Rare moment on 'The Voice' after an epic battle round performance
It was the beginning of the battle rounds on The Voice on Monday night, and Kelly Clarkson was stuck between a rocker and a hard place. The final battle of the night was between 22-year-old Jackie Foster and 34-year-old D.R. King.
The duo sang “Sign of the Times” by Harry Styles, and following the performance, the coaches showed plenty of love for Kelly’s contestants. “That was honestly my favorite battle today,” Alicia Keys said. Adam Levine followed that up with, “That was just a special, special thing, and I’m really happy I got to experience it ’cause you’re both that good. You’re both astonishing.”
It was a difficult decision for Kelly, who eventually named D.R. the winner. But it didn’t take long for Jackie to find a new coach, as Alicia, Adam, and Blake Shelton all hit their “steal” buttons trying to snag the young rocker. Jackie was flattered by the triple steal. After listening to all their pitches, she chose Team Adam. “I couldn’t be more grateful for this opportunity,” Jackie said. “And, um, I’m a rocker, and Adam Levine with Maroon 5, I feel like he could really just shape up my artistry. And I’m — I’m in shock.”
