Eric Kripke and Anthony Starr Tease The Boys Season 5
The Boys season four came to an epic conclusion in yesterday's finale, but people are already asking: Will there be a season five of The Boys?
It's a simple answer: Yes. There will be one more season, but it's going to be the fifth and final one, which means there is a lot to come from whatever Eric Kripke has up his sleeve next.
"I think the finale of season four really shows you that we've been planning five years all along," Kripke told LadBible, "there's no way a show goes one more season after the events of that finale."
While he didn't go into too much more detail about what season five might have in store for us, he told LadBible that season five is going to be "our show's version of the apocalypse".
What does he mean by that? Well, he said, "I always look at it as of the five seasons, we're kind of at that point, that's sort of the end of the second act of a movie where everyone's really at their low point, and they've all faced their own personal demons."
Kripke said, "They need to really come together in the fifth season and save the world."
Anthony Starr echoed Kripke's comments in his interview with Vulture, adding, "It's a setup for the Boys to claw back and fight as we go into season five. The show is ultimately about vigilantes trying to take down the evil."
Starr likened it to "trying to take down the empire" in Star Wars.
When season five will arrive is still a mystery, so we'll take all the tidbits we can get for now.
