Eric McCormack and estranged wife Janet Holden attend Oscars 2024 party after divorce filing
Back together?
Eric McCormack and his estranged wife, Janet Leigh Holden, were spotted together at the Elton John AIDS Foundation 2024 Oscars viewing party — months after she filed for divorce in November 2023.
The “Will & Grace” star, 60, wore a simple tux, while Holden donned a silver dress with matching evening gloves in LA on Sunday. They were also spotted holding hands.
McCormack is well-known for his role as the handsome gay lawyer Will Truman on the beloved NBC sitcom, which ran from 1998 to 2006.
The actor later reprised his role alongside much of the original cast during the show’s brief revival in 2017, which aired for three seasons.
As The Post previously reported, Holden filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” the day before Thanksgiving after 26 years of marriage. She did not list a date of separation.
At the time, TMZ reported that Holden was seeking spousal support.
Despite the rumblings of divorce, the “Travelers” star was spotted wearing his wedding ring while walking his dog a few days after the supposed split. They were last publicly spotted together at a viewing party for the 2023 Academy Awards.
In 2007, McCormack revealed that he met his ex on the set of the 1994 CBS TV show “Lonesome Dove” where Holden served as assistant director and McCormack starred as Col. Francis Clay Mosby.
“She was the assistant director,” he told the Guardian at the time. “I was just coming out of a relationship, and not to be trusted. I’d been dating actresses but Janet was different. She wore jeans, drove a pick-up truck.”
“At first she wasn’t too keen. She knew actors are a lot of work: It would be like taking your work home with you. But I managed to convince her,” he went on. “We had a secret affair the first season. I mean, dating crew! Actually, it was much worse for her, because she wasn’t supposed to give any of the actors preferential treatment.”
The six-time Golden Globe winner later married Holden in August 1997. They also share a 21-year-old son named Finnigan.
In April 2020, the Emmy Award winner shared a photo on Instagram of Holden for her birthday.
“This is the first shot Janet & I took at the #LonesomeDove Season 1 Wrap Party, circa Dec ’94,” he wrote. “Just so happens this was our ‘coming out’ party. No one on the show knew we’d been dating for months. And *today* is my wife’s birthday!”
“Happy Birthday, @janetmccormack,” the actor concluded.
