Eric Trump threatens GOP officials who don't support his dad: 'They will get primaried'
Eric Trump appeared Tuesday on Hannity and issued a stern warning to GOP officials who do not support his father’s bid to overturn the election results.
“Any senator or any congressman that does not, meaning on this side, that does not fight tomorrow, I'm telling you, their political career is over,” Trump said. “They will get primaried next time around and they will lose if they don't stand up and show some backbone and show some conviction.”
The president has created a rift in the party that nominated him. Several Trump loyalists are willing to object to the electoral college’s certification. However, seemingly just as many GOP officials argue that democracy is the rule of the land, and that the electoral college should proceed as it always has.
The electoral college results are set to be certified on Jan. 6, in Washington, D.C. While the president has repeatedly encouraged intervention from both elected officials and civilians, the proceedings are expected to move forward.
Joe Biden, who received more than 80 million votes in November, will be the 46th president of the United States of America.
Hannity airs weeknights at 9 p.m. on Fox News Channel.
