Erick Morillo on Donald Trump’s Base: ‘All White and Kind of Racist’
Erick Morillo is as disappointed as you are in American political affairs. He sees senseless violence go unanswered. He sees the racially-charged unrest of a nation growing, and the income gap widening, and most of all, he sees our elected officials doing nothing about it.
He knows that this country has becomes dangerously polarized, and it’s going to take a lot of work to get our people to come together in harmony, but what he sees at the Republican National Convention isn’t helping.

“Do I believe Trump is the answer? Absolutely not,” Morillo says. “It’s terrible to see what base he has actually ignited, people who are more into keeping America back like it was in the ’50s, all white and kind of racist.”

“I really was a supporter of Bernie,” Morillo says. “I want that kind of change, and even if he wasn’t going to be able to accomplish it completely, he definitely stood for something else. “I think that no matter what, we do live in the best country in the world,” he says. “I think that, hopefully, we’re going to get out stuff together, but a lot of things have to change.”
