Erin Cahill talks staying fit and fabulous with Hallmark friends

The actress recently shared with Woman’s World a glimpse of what we can expect from one of her upcoming Hallmark projects, Holidazed. The 8-episode limited series set to premiere on Hallmark+ this holiday season and stars Dennis Haysbert, John C. McGinley, Loretta Devine, Virginia Madsen, Lucille Soong, Holland Roden, Noemi Gonzalez, Rachelle Lefevre, Lindy Booth, Osric Chauand and more.

The series follows six unique families all living on the same cul-de-cac, which brought the cast together in unique ways — one of those being a Holidazed group Pilates class.

“Dennis Haysbert was the only guy,” Cahill reveals with a laugh. “It was him and a bunch of the girls – and now he does Pilates three times a week! He won’t mind me telling you. He’s proud of it. It completely healed his knee.”

The actress, who has been dancing since age 8, happens to be a big fan of group workouts and stays fit by taking Pilates, BüNDA StairMaster and other classes, three to five times a week.

“If you have a tenacity for life, you want to feed your instrument so you can keep going,” she says. “I also try to get sleep, but that can be tricky, so I have my little ritual that I do: I put lemon in my water when I get up in the morning and some apple cider vinegar to alkaline my body, and then I take a probiotic, Turmeric, ginger and a liver cleanse. I have this whole little regimen.”

Erin Cahill talks about finding a healthy balance

While Cahill is committed to a healthy lifestyle, she doesn’t believe in making wellness feel like a grind.

“I believe life is about balance and enjoying yourself,” she explains. “If you're at a restaurant you've always wanted to go to, you have to try that thing you want to try! A healthy body is also a healthy mind, and they completely correlate. If you really enjoy your food and you really enjoy your workout, your body and your mind will metabolize it all in a different way.” For Cahill, the final piece to finding that balance is actually to stop thinking about her food, her body and herself.

“This is a shameless plug for charity, but being of service is something that’s saved me constantly,” she says. “In this industry, you can get myopically focused on yourself. It’s very easy to drown in that. For me, getting out and doing something for someone else – whether it be for a neighbor, friend or a great charity – it saves me. That's why I'm like, ‘Pinch me about Hallmark!’”

Erin Cahill gets into the drama on ‘Blue Ridge’

While Cahill ranks as one of our favorite Hallmark beauties, she does sometimes step out of the network. In fact, you can catch her on the right side of the law in the series Blue Ridge, based on the movie of the same title. The procedural drama follows the adventures of a former green beret who moves to a small Appalachian town to play Sheriff, and Cahill appears in the final two episodes as FBI agent Beth Gates.

“It stars Johnathon Schaech, Sarah Lancaster, A. Martinez, Taegen Burns and just a great cast,” Cahill teases. “I was honored to get to be in two episodes. It was on Cowboy Way Channel first and now it’s on INSP channel, so I’m excited for more people to see it!”
