ESPN Analysts Go Viral Debating Whether Travis Kelce Bought Taylor Swift an Engagement Ring

ESPN analysts usually keep their predictions to events on the field, but as the 2024-2025 NFL season has yet to kick off, they're seemingly making an exception to debate whether or not Travis Kelce has already purchased an engagement ring for Taylor Swift.

While discussing the Kansas City Chiefs tight end's recent "big purchase," on Tuesday's episode of NFL Live, host Laura Rutledge joked that it "wasn't an engagement ring," revealing the 34-year-old had recently bought a race-winning horse with what appeared to be a nod to the international pop superstar.

Fellow sports reporter Adam Schefter interjected, "asking the important questions."

"Laura, how do you know that he didn't, how do you know that Travis Kelce didn't buy an engagement ring?"

"I don't know," she replied. "Do you know? Are you going to break some big news here?"

Smirking, Schefter reminded Rutledge of what she suggested: "I'm just saying that you said that he didn't buy an engagement ring and I'm just wondering how you have that information."

Analyst and former NFL star Booger McFarland joked that the "awkward silence" and unanswered question spoke "volumes."

"Schefty, do you know something, Schefty?" McFarland added. "America wants to know.”

"All I did was ask a question about how Laura knew he hadn’t bought an engagement ring," Schefter, 57, clarified. "That’s all I was doing.”

Rumors relating to the all-star couple's romance are, by all means, abundant, but the three-time Super Bowl champ's intent to make this his "end game" relationship seems to be the piece of gossip to outlive them all.

While the two have only been dating for a little over a year, reports of Kelce being ready to take the huge step in their relationship first started popping up in December 2023. Still, only a few months later, he joked that the only ring he was "focused on" getting was for Super Bowl LVIII.
