Este Haim Makes a Bold Declaration About Taylor Swift’s ‘Genius’

Este Haim has confirmed that she, like so many others, is a champion of Taylor Swift and the pop superstar’s “genius.”

Este, who performs as Haim with her two younger sisters, shared her honest thoughts about the Eras Tour artist and her music while speaking with Fashion magazine during a recent red carpet event. Este and Swift have been friends for years, with Haim notably playing on “no body, no crime,” a song included on Swift’s 2020 album evermore, featuring a character with Este’s name.

After describing “female friendship” as being “so important,” Este, 38, told the magazine that Swift, 34, is “the best.”

“She deserves every accolade that she’s ever had,” Este said of the “Cruel Summer” songstress in a video the magazine shared on TikTok. "She’s a true genius.”

The 14-time Grammy Award winner has certainly attained many accolades during her career. She most recently took home seven new trophies at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Swift set a new record for the most VMAs won by a solo artist with the windfall, bringing her career total up to 30.

In addition to her talent as an artist, Este said Swift is also “the best friend and the best hang.” The pals had an opportunity to spend time together earlier this month at the U.S. Open, which Swift attended with her NFL star boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

“I would do that, like, a jillion times over again,” Este gushed. “It was so much fun.”

The friends enjoyed time together at the tennis match just days before Este traveled to Canada to attend the world premiere of her new movie Shell. It was while Este was walking the red carpet at the film’s Toronto International Film Festival premiere on Thursday, Sept. 12, that she was asked about her friendship with Swift.

Meanwhile, the “Fortnight” singer’s appearance at the U.S. Open came amid her two-month break from touring. Her hit international Eras Tour, which kicked off in the U.S. in March 2023, has traveled to several countries this year and is slated to return to the U.S. in mid-October. The tour will then travel to Canada, and wrap up in Vancouver on Dec. 8.
