'Eternals': Exclusive first look at Funko, Lego and Hasbro's cosmically cool Marvel toys
A day after we got our best look yet at Marvel Cinematic Universe's next mind-bending entry with the final trailer for the Chloé Zhao-directed Eternals (watch above), Yahoo Entertainment is psyched to exclusively introduce the upcoming toy tie-ins from Hasbro, Lego and Funko.
The cosmically cool toys, in stores on Oct. 1, feature all the key characters from the team of immortals pushed into superhero duty after the death of Tony "Iron Man" Stark and disappearance of Steve "Captain America" Rogers in Avengers: Endgame, as well as the forces that prompt them into action, the nefarious warlord Kro and his army of otherworldly creatures known as Deviants.
Hasbro's Legends lineup
First up is Hasbro's hyper-realistic Legends line of 6-inch action figures, offering detailed depictions of the titular hero ensemble: Ikaris (Richard Madden), Thena (Angelina Jolie), Ajak (Salma Hayek), Sersi (Gemma Chan), Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry), Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), Druig (Barry Keoghan), Sprite (Lia McHugh) and Gilgamesh (Don Lee) — the latter is a "build-a-figure" which can be assembled from pieces sold with his fellow heroes. The line also includes a good look at the big bad, Kro.
Alas, there's no figure (yet) for Kit Harington's Dane Whitman, the mortal in love with Sersi who in the comics eventually becomes the Avenger known as Black Knight. Each figure costs $19.99.
Lego's Eternals brick-a-brac
Meanwhile, the new sets from Lego showcase the Eternals battling with Deviants. There's "Eternals' Aerial Assault" ($9.99), which pits minifigs of team leader Ikaris and the pint-sized Sprite against a winged equine Deviant that was introduced in the trailer. The "Deviant Ambush!" set ($19.99) has Gilgamesh, Thena and Makkari squaring off against a Deviant that bears a slight resemblance to the demon dogs from Ghostbusters. "In Arishem's Shadow" ($59.99) gives us a good look at the towering, terrifying Celestial being Arishem — whose color scheme and illuminated midsection, courtesy of a light-up Lego brick, is reminiscent of a certain Armored Avenger, but with a much nastier disposition — along with minifigs of Ajak, Kingo, Ikaris and Sersi.
Finally, there's "Rise of the Domo" ($99.99), which recreates the ginormous ship seen in the trailers (aside from being the name of the spacecraft, Domo was also one of the elder Eternals in the comics) and a bunch of minifigs, including Phastos, Makkari, Druig, Cersi, Ikaris and Thena, as well as the formidable Kro and one of his Deviants.
Funko Pop!-apolooza
Finally, we have a look at the massive range of Funko Pop! vinyl figures. In addition to various versions (and store exclusives) of the 10 members of the Eternals team, the lineup also features Dane Whitman (only in street clothes, not in his Black Knight get-up), Kro, Arishem and Deviants in several sizes (and some with collectible cards), as well as in pen and keychain forms. The regular-sized Pop! figures will retail for $9.99 apiece.
Eternals arrives in theaters on Nov. 5.
