Eugene & Dan Levy In Talks To Host 2024 Emmy Awards On ABC
EXCLUSIVE: In 2020, Eugene Levy and Dan Levy made history as the first father-son duo to win Emmys in the same year. Four years later, they are poised to break more ground as the first father-son team to host the Emmys.
Eugene Levy and Dan Levy are in negotiations to emcee the 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards, Deadline has learned. Just like in 2020, when the Levys’ Schitt’s Creek swept the comedy categories, the ceremony is airing on ABC this year. Sources stress that negotiations are ongoing, and it is unclear whether a deal will be reached. Reps for the network, the TV Academy and the actors declined comment.
More from Deadline
Eugene Levy and Dan Levy have done memorable stints presenting at awards shows together, most notably at the 2020 SAG Awards where they kicked off the ceremony with an opening monologue (you can watch it below) before presenting the night’s first and final awards.
The two also guest-hosted Ellen together, and Eugene appeared on Saturday Night Live when Dan hosted in 2021.
While a parent and their offspring have not hosted the Emmys together, Danny Thomas and his daughter Marlo Thomas co-hosted with other people decades apart.
