'Euphoria' star Hunter Schafer is 'happy to share' that she and singer Rosalía previously dated
"Euphoria" star Hunter Schafer is confirming her past romantic relationship with Spanish artist Rosalía.
In an interview published Tuesday with GQ, Schafer, 25, confirmed that she and the "Motomami" singer dated for five months in 2019 before the two called it quits. The two stayed close friends and have since been photographed together out and about after dating for around five months during the fall and winter of 2019.
"I have really beautiful friendships with people that I was once romantically involved with," Schafer said, adding that Rosalía, 31, is "family no matter what."
"It's been so much speculation for so long. Part of us just wants to get it over with," she said while noting that she and the musician also believe it's nobody's business whether they were an item. But, "it's something I'm happy to share," Schafer adds, "And I think she feels that way too."
Rosalía was last linked to Puerto Rican reggaeton star Rauw Alejandro, who revealed he called off the pair's engagement last July.

Hunter Schafer opens up about dating 'Euphoria' co-star Dominic Fike
Schafer also opened up about ex-boyfriend and "Euphoria" co-star Dominic Fike. The couple met while filming season two of the HBO series that made her a household name in 2021.
"I had had so many sh---- experiences with men before, not from dating them, but just in life," Schafer said. "I think I had built up a wall that was way too thick around them — and then I fell in love."
Schafer said their relationship gave her the opportunity to "work through a lot of the feelings of disdain that I had towards men as a whole."
"I think it had inhibited a lot of my friendships with men, and a lot of that came down as well. I had a really beautiful relationship with (Fike), and it really opened me up in that way," she said.
'Euphoria' star Hunter Schafer opens up about transitioning
Schafer, who is trans, also opened up about her choice to avoid discussions around gender in interviews lately, saying it took awhile for her to learn that she didn't want to talk about the topic.
"Especially after high school, I was sick of talking about it. I worked so hard to get to where I am, past these really hard points in my transition, and now I just want to be a girl and finally move on," Schafer said.
She added that she also doesn't want to do strictly trans roles.
"I know for a fact that I’m one of the most famous trans people in media right now, and I do feel a sense of responsibility, and maybe a little bit of guilt, for not being more of a spokesperson, but ultimately, I really do believe that not making it the centerpiece to what I’m doing will allow me to get further," Schafer said.
"And I think getting further and doing awesome shit, in the interest of ‘the movement,’ will be way more helpful than talking about it all the time," she continued.
