Even Roseanne Barr Dunked on Fergie’s National Anthem Performance: ‘Mine Was Better’
Ouch. When even Roseanne Barr feels free to critique your performance of the National Anthem, you know it was bad.
Roseanne Barr, who famously infuriated many with her rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a baseball game in 1990, was one of the many to weigh in on Fergie’s performance at the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday.
In a tweet, Barr declared that her performance was “better” than that of the Black Eyed Peas singer.

“Who saw Fergie’s national anthem performance at the NBA All Star Game? I think mine was better lowkey,” Barr wrote.
Barr infamously drew criticism with her screechy performance of the anthem, which she punctuated by spitting and grabbing her crotch at the end. (See video below, if your memory needs refreshing and you have developed a deep hatred for your ears.)
Fergie caught heat on Sunday with her own performance, with one critic tweeting, “America is officially dead. #Fergie” and another wag joking, “Francis Scott Off-key” — referring to the song’s original writer.
