Get ready, peaches, because you will be seeing the Miller family from Ginny & Georgia very soon on your television screens!

In May 2023, Deadline reported that the popular coming-of-age series would be returning for two (yes, two) more seasons. Netflix announced that the dramedy series was renewed for a third and fourth season only months after the second season premiered on the streaming platform earlier that year.

After patiently waiting for what seems like an eternity for news about season three, Ginny & Georgia fans (like myself) have *finally* received an exciting new update about production for season three, including the plot, cast, release date and more. But let me not get ahead of myself. Do you want to learn everything there is to know about the upcoming seasons of Ginny & Georgia?

Keep reading for everything I know about Ginny & Georgia season three.

1. What Is Ginny & Georgia About?

Netflix

The best way I can describe Ginny & Georgia is it’s kinda like a modern-day version of Gilmore Girls. The comedy-drama series follows a mother-daughter duo—Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Georgia (Brianne Howey)—as they move to a new town and try to navigate their complicated relationship.

2. Has Ginny & Georgia Season 3 Started Filming?

Due to the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, filming for Ginny & Georgia season three came to a halt. After both strikes ended in late 2023, no one from the cast or crew posted an update on social media to signal that production had resumed for the new season. But that all changed a couple of days ago.

Recently on Instagram, actress Brianne Howey (who plays Georgia on the show) shared a BTS photo taken while filming season three. One snap featured in the BTS photo dump shows the 34-year-old star posing with her two co-stars while holding the season three script in her hand. In the caption, she wrote, “Let the games begin! [peach emojis] season 3 LETS GO #ginnyandgeorgia.”

Netflix also confirmed on its official X (formerly known as Twitter) page that production for Ginny & Georgia season three has officially started (!!!). Along with photos of the cast sitting down for their first table read for the season, the caption read, “HERE WE GO [pink swirling heart emoji] Ginny and Georgia Season 3 is now in production!”

3. Is There a Release Date for Ginny & Georgia Season 3?

Netflix

Well, not at the moment. Since filming for Ginny & Georgia season three has just started, fans speculate that the upcoming installment could premiere in the spring or summer of 2025. And being that seasons three and four were announced at the same time, there is a strong chance that filming for those two seasons could be back-to-back, so there might be a shorter wait time in between seasons.

4. Who Is the Cast of Ginny & Georgia Season 3?

Netflix

Here’s a list of the cast members who are expected to return for Ginny & Georgia season three:

  • Antonia Gentry as Ginny Miller

  • Brianne Howey as Georgia Miller

  • Felix Mallard as Marcus Baker

  • Sara Waisglass as Max

  • Raymond Ablack as Joe

  • Scott Porter as Mayor Paul Randolph

  • Alex Mallari Jr. as Gabriel Cordova

5. What About a Trailer?

Netflix hasn’t released an official trailer for Ginny & Georgia season three. But when it does, you’ll be the first to know.

6. When Was Ginny & Georgia Renewed for Season 4?

COURTESY OF NETFLIX

Like I said before, Netflix announced that the dramedy series was renewed for seasons three and four shortly after the second season premiered in January 2023. Ginny & Georgia getting renewed for two additional seasons comes as no shock to me at all, considering the show has topped Netflix’s list of top ten shows many times before.

In addition to the renewal news, the streaming service also announced that the show will be getting a new showrunner. The streamer confirmed that original showrunner Debra J. Fisher, who worked on the show for seasons one and two, will be replaced by Sarah Glinski—who served as a writer on the popular teen drama, Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Let the countdown begin.
