Will there be a Bruce Springsteen biopic?

Sort of!

Deliver Me From Nowhere will follow Springsteen's life specifically around the making of his 1982 album Nebraska. It remains to be seen how much of Springsteen's life before and after the album's production and release that the film will cover.

Nebraska is considered one of Springsteen's seminal works and was a departure from the high-energy and optimism of his work with the E. Street Band, with lyrics about downtrodden blue collar life and even one track from the point of view of a serial killer. Nebraska's sales and acclaim were lower and a slower burn than most of Springsteen's prior records, though it's since been regarded as a classic.

Odessa Young will play Springsteen's love interest in Deliver Me From Nowhere, though further details about her character haven't yet been disclosed. Because the film will focus somewhat on both Nebraska and Born In the U.S.A., the latter of which was released in 1984, it's possible Young will play Springsteen's first wife, Julianne Phillips, who he met that year.
