Everything Marvel has in the works, from Brie Larson's 'Marvels' return to new show 'Echo'

The folks at Marvel are best known for producing box office-shaking superhero blockbusters. They're also uncannily good at planning.

Since “Iron Man” premiered in 2008, the interconnected Marvel Cinematic Universe has expanded beyond all expectations and continues to grow. After the mega “Infinity Saga” that made up the first three phases of the MCU, the superhero world is now in Phase 5 – part of the “Multiverse Saga” – with the upcoming release of "Deadpool & Wolverine" and is mostly planned out through Phase 6, which includes two new “Avengers” movies.

So what’s coming and when? Here’s everything we know that's in the Marvel pipeline:

Kathryn Hahn's 'WandaVision' witch returns in 'Agatha All Along'

Just in time for Halloween, Kathryn Hahn reprises her magical "WandaVision" role as Agatha Harkness in the Disney+ series "Agatha All Along" (premieres Sept. 18). Her powers were taken from her by Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), and the new show finds Agatha following a legendary path to get her mojo back and forming new coven alongside a goth teen (Joe Locke) and some fellow witches (including Aubrey Plaza and Patti LuPone). And an appearance by Wanda's "corpse" in the first trailer – she brought a mountain down on herself in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" – teases that we might not have seen the last of the Scarlet Witch either.

Before things get witchy, a couple of antiheroes are getting stabby. Ryan Reynolds's sword-swinging Merc with a Mouth and Hugh Jackman's clawed X-Man make their MCU debut in the new adventure "Deadpool & Wolverine" (in theaters July 26).

Exit Chris Evans, enter Anthony Mackie with 'Captain America: Brave New World'

After three movies with Chris Evans, the fourth Captain America solo film (Feb. 14, 2025) – previously subtitled "New World Order" – features Anthony Mackie, whose Sam Wilson inherited the mantle and the shield in “The Falcon and the the Winter Soldier.” Two characters from that TV series return in the new film – Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres (aka new Falcon) and Carl Lumbly as former super-soldier Isaiah Bradley – while Liv Tyler’s Betty Ross and Tim Blake Nelson’s Leader have their first MCU appearances since “The Incredible Hulk." Harrison Ford makes his Marvel debut as President “Thunderbolt” Ross, taking over the character originally played by the late William Hurt.

‘Thunderbolts’ brings together a motley crew of Marvel antiheroes

After making her debut in "Black Widow," Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) appeared in Disney+'s "Hawkeye" and next stars in "Thunderbolts."

The Avengers, this lot is not. In the comic books, the Thunderbolts are a group of supervillains working for the government – sort of like DC’s Suicide Squad. And while plot details are scarce about the movie (May 25, 2025), we do have a sense of the lineup, which includes “Black Widow” characters Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) and Red Guardian (David Harbour), the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) and John Walker, aka U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell). Julia Louis-Dreyfus is on tap to reprise her role as shady group leader/recruiter Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, and the cast will also feature Marvel rookies Steven Yeun and Ayo Edebiri.

Mahershala Ali is next up as the fang-tastic ‘Blade’

Wesley Snipes had his turn and now it’s Mahershala Ali taking on the mantle of comic books’ coolest vampire hunter in a new movie (Nov. 7, 2025). Oscar winner Ali was announced as the half-human, half-vamp hero at Comic-Con in 2019 and had a voiceover cameo in an end-credit scene in “Eternals.” The cast also includes Mia Goth and Delroy Lindo, plus “True Detective” creator Nic Pizzolatto was added as a writer, though pre-production on "Blade" was recently shut down by the writers' strike.

More Disney+ series are coming, including the return of Charlie Cox's Daredevil

Charlie Cox (with Tatiana Maslany), who starred on Netflix's "Daredevil" show as the blind superhero from Hell's Kitchen, reprised his role on last year's "She-Hulk: Attorney At Law" and will star in Disney+'s upcoming "Daredevil: Born Again."

There are a plethora of undated Disney+ shows to roll out in the next year or so during Marvel's Phase 5. A list of what's on the way:

  • A second season of the animated series "What If ...?" features Jeffrey Wright again voicing the all-seeing Watcher.

  • "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" breakout Dominique Thorne's inventive teen Riri Williams gets the spotlight in "Ironheart."

  • "WandaVision" scene-stealer Kathryn Hahn is back – with witchy new co-stars Patti LuPone and Aubrey Plaza – in "Agatha, Coven of Chaos."

  • Charlie Cox's blind superhero faces his nemesis Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) once more in a planned "Daredevil" series.

Phase 6 brings 'Deadpool 3,' 'Fantastic Four' and new 'Avengers' movies

Ryan Reynolds' masked mercenary (seen here in "Deadpool 2") is set for his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in 2024.

Here's what's on tap for Phase 6:

  • Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reunite and crash the MCU with a third (and highly anticipated) untitled "Deadpool" movie (July 26, 2024), as the wisecracking title mercenary and his clawed buddy Wolverine.

  • Marvel's "First Family" from the comics gets a third chance on the big screen with director Matt Shakman's "Fantastic Four" (May 2, 2025). And while John Krasinski had a cameo as Reed Richards in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," no official cast has been announced yet.

  • Fans also await the next lineup of Marvel's storied group of Earth's Mightiest Heroes in "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty" (May 1, 2026) – which is likely in for a name change following Kang star Jonathan Majors' off-screen troubles, unless the character is recast – and "Avengers: Secret Wars" (May 7, 2027).
