Keanu Reeves and Dogstar are touring their new album. How to see their Phoenix concert

Keanu Reeves won't be able to stop at the Tempe Circle K where Bill and Ted began their excellent adventures. That location was recently shuttered.

But he'll have plenty of other Circle Ks to choose from when he gets to Phoenix for a show at the 500-capacity Crescent Ballroom on Friday, Aug. 11, with Dogstar, the alternative-rock band he launched in the 1990s with “Quattro Formaggi,” a wonderfully titled four-song EP that hit the streets in 1996.

By that point, Reeves, the bassist, was, of course, a famous actor, thanks in large part to his starring role in "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure," a science-fiction comedy primarily shot in metro Phoenix.

Keanu Reeves' band Dogstar touring on 1st album in two decades

Crescent Ballroom, which recently announced a new series of summer matinee concerts, is the second stop on a 25-date Dogstar tour in support of their first album in two decades, “Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees,” due to be self-released Oct. 6.

The advance single “Everything Turns Around,” for which they also made a music video, is out now.

Dogstar played a sold-out show at Hollywood’s famed Roxy Theatre on Tuesday, July 18, a day before announcing their reunion tour.

The band issued a statement with the tour announcement:

“We are so excited to re-introduce Dogstar with our new single ‘Everything Turns Around,’” they said. “It feels like a fun summer song to us. It has an uplifting message and a positive vibe that hopefully makes your day a little bit lighter. It’s one of our favorite songs to play live and can’t wait to share it on our upcoming tour.”
