“Conclave” has been a modest hit since opening in theaters last weekend. The gossipy papal drama has been sitting in third place in the Best Picture Oscar odds, but could it build enough consensus to actually win on a preferential ballot? Its strength could also pull in Isabella Rossellini, its sole supporting actress hopeful who remains in sixth place but continues to produce audience applause with her big scene in the film. Is her lack of screen time muddling people’s predictions?
