F1 Cast: Bridgerton’s Simone Ashley Joins Brad Pitt Racing Movie
Bridgerton star Simone Ashley has been tapped to join the F1 cast for Apple Original Films’ upcoming sports drama, which will be led by Oscar-winner Brad Pitt. The film is currently scheduled to debut in theaters on June 27, 2025.
Before landing her breakout role as Kate Sharma in Bridgerton Season 2, Ashley first gained recognition as part of the cast of Netflix’s hit teen comedy Sex Education. Besides the F1 movie, she will also next be seen in Prime Video’s romantic comedy movie Picture This with Hero Fiennes Tiffin. In addition to leading the cast, the rom-com also marks her first project as an executive producer.
Who’s part of the F1 cast?
Ashley will be joining an all-star ensemble cast consisting of Pitt as Sonny Hayes, Damson Idris as Joshua Pearce, Kerry Condon as Kate, Tobias Menzies as Banning, Javier Bardem as Ruben, Kim Bodnia as Kaspar, Shea Whigham as Chip, Sarah Niles as Bernadette and more. The film will also feature real-life Formula One racers, including producer Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz Jr. and more. The film centers around a veteran racecar driver who comes out of retirement to become the mentor of a younger driver. Through this opportunity, Pitt’s character will try to return to his former glory by being the newcomer’s partner on the track.
The F1 movie is being directed by Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski from a screenplay written by Ehren Kruger. Joining Pitt are Snowfall’s Damson Idris, The Banshees of Inisherin’s Kerry Condon, The Crown’s Tobias Menzies, and Dune’s Javier Bardem. It is produced by Pitt’s production company Plan B, along with legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Prior to starring in the sports drama movie, Pitt will first star in another Apple movie titled Wolfs, which will see the Bullet Train actor reuniting with Ocean’s 11 co-star George Clooney.
