'The Fake News' is the best new source for ridiculous news stories
Ed Helms returned to Comedy Central as “Ted Nelms,” the host of a new satirical news show, The Fake News With Ted Nelms. The show had everything you’d expect to see on a regular news program. It had “Breaking News” that wasn’t really breaking, there was a panel of so-called “experts” to discuss different topics, and it even featured a severe weather report.
The lead Fake News story of the night was the ongoing drama at the White House, where Donald Trump had fallen down a well. There was a reporter on the scene giving details of the story, including a tweet that Trump had sent out from the well, reading, “Failing media won’t give Trump credit. Nobody has ever gone inside a well this deep before. I have the best well.” The reporter followed that up by saying, “Initial attempts at a rescue immediately failed when first responders realized their rope was too short.”
The Fake News With Ted Nelms premiered Wednesday at 10 p.m. on Comedy Central.
