‘The Fall Guy’ Trailer: Ryan Gosling Is a Stuntman-Bounty Hunter for ‘Director’ Emily Blunt in Explosive Action Thriller
Ryan Gosling hits the crash pad in the all-new trailer for David Leitch’s thriller “The Fall Guy.”
Based on Glen A. Larson’s 1980s television series of the same name, the film stars Gosling as Colt, a stuntman on the hunt for a missing movie star he once doubled for. The film also stars Emily Blunt as Gosling’s ex-girlfriend Jody and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the AWOL star.

Supporting them in the film is Stephanie Hsu (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”), Winston Duke (“Black Panther”), Hannah Waddingham (“Ted Lasso”) and Teresa Palmer (“A Discovery of Witches”). Audiences got to catch the first sneak peek of the film back at CinemaCon 2023.
“It just feels like we’re paying homage to the stunt community,” producer Kelly McCormick told Collider in 2022. “And to, really, cinema and those of us who make the movies. And it’s sort of a love letter to the industry. On top of it just being really fun and what I think will be a really good time for the audience.”
The original television series “The Fall Guy” ran on ABC for 113 episodes from 1981 to 1986. It starred Lee Majors as Colt, a role now helmed by Gosling, and Heather Thomas as Jody, now played by Blunt. The show followed Colt as a stuntman-by-day, bounty hunter-by-night who used his skills in auto-stunts to capture criminals. Majors is set to make an appearance in the upcoming film.
Leitch’s “The Fall Guy” was written by Drew Pearce and produced by Leitch, Gosling, McCormick and Guymon Casady for Universal Pictures and 87North Productions. It was executive produced by Pearce, Larson, Peter Cramer, Cecil O’Connor, Matt Reilly and Geoff Shaevitz. “The Fall Guy” is set to release on March 1, 2024.
