Fallon takes aim at Trump administration with Bruce Springsteen Christmas carol
On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the host got into the Christmas spirit by putting on a Bruce Springsteen costume and rocking the crowd with a new version of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” With Fallon taking aim at the Trump administration, it seemed that he was hoping for a White House Christmas as he sang, “He’s making a list, naughty and nice, he’s gonna find out just who to indict. Robert Mueller‘s coming to town. Robert Mueller’s coming to town.”
As Fallon imagined Robert Mueller as our new American Santa Claus, we can only guess that Trump would definitely be getting coal in his stocking. “He sees your Russian dealings. He’s read all your emails. He knows that you tried to collude. It isn’t fake news for goodness sake,” sang Bruce Fallon.
Though it remains to be seen whether the Trump administration is “Born to Run,” they were definitely “Born in the USA” and the final lyrics had an ominous tone for the Republican party. “Pass tax plans when you’re sleeping. You know that’s a mistake. The midterm elections coming soon. In 2018 you’re gonna pay.”
