Family Friends Reveal Why Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Haven’t Told Their Kids They’re Royalty
While Catherine, Princess of Wales and Prince William’s kids go to royal outings time and time again, and understand all the rules that come with it, it’s completely different from the Sussexes. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have left the British royal family, but that doesn’t mean their kids aren’t still royalty. We all know the titles have been up for debate for years now, and as of Aug 2024, they are still royalty; but Harry and Meghan haven’t told them so.
A family friend recently told Us Weekly that the Sussexes allegedly haven’t told their kids about their royal roots yet, and are working hard to keep their privacy.

“They’ll have those conversations in due time,” the family friend said. “….I think every parent wants to share their kid with the world, but they just can’t. William’s kids, for example, have way more safety, even though they’re recognizable. And the same doesn’t apply to Meghan and Harry’s children. They know the world wants to see [them but] I would expect them to live smaller lives until that gets sorted, if it ever does.”
the family friend also gave super-rare details about how the family handles parenting day-to-day and how Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are today, personality-wise.
“They take the kids to school, they pick them up, and they are very active and present with them throughout the day,” the pal said. “They’re so well-mannered. Archie is sweet and curious and playful, and Lili is vibrant and happy.”
For those who don’t know, Harry and Meghan started dating in 2016, and by April 2018, they were married in a beautiful royal ceremony.
They share two children together named Archie, born in May 2019, and Lilibet Diana, born in June 2021.
In a candid moment back in Nigeria, via Marie Claire, Meghan talked about the parenting advice she received: how you never truly find a balance, and to embrace that.
“I love being a mom,” she said, talking about how people never find the balance. “What I think that means now is that balance will always change for you. That balance, what seems balanced 10 years ago is going to shift. And so being a mom has always been a dream of mine. And I’m so fortunate that we have two beautiful, healthy, very chatty, sweet children.”
